Winter’s Farm is something near and dear to me. I saw this old barn traveling the backroads of northern Indiana and pulled aside to make a quick sketch. And the birch trees are those found on our family farm. I love the textures and the old barn and birch tree offer pen and ink. While I use digital pen and ink now more than traditional crowquill and India ink, the strokes and form are too close to tell anymore. I also colorized this artwork to test the differences in digital compared to traditional watercolor. Art can be so much fun…
